Roto Brushes

A roto brush mounts on a handle in a cordless drill and does in seconds what a hand brush takes minutes to do. If you tune more than a pair or two at a time — a family, a team, a race weekend — it stops being a luxury.

The same coarse-to-fine order applies: steel or brass to open the structure, horsehair to clear, nylon or fleece to polish. Roto fleece is the finishing tool, and comes in hard and soft versions for cold and warm snow.

Two cautions. Run the drill at moderate speed with light pressure, and keep the tool moving — heat from a roto brush held in one place will damage a base faster than an iron will. And check handle width before ordering: 100 mm and 140–150 mm are both common, and they are not interchangeable.
