Ski Bindings

Race bindings differ from recreational bindings in two ways that matter: higher DIN ranges for the forces a racer generates, and plate systems that lift the boot off the ski and let it flex underneath.

DIN range is the first filter. A junior racer and an adult speed skier need different bindings, and a binding running near the top of its range is being asked for more than it should give.

Plates are the second. A race plate raises stand height and changes how the ski bends, and stand height is capped by the rules — 50 mm maximum for ski, plate and binding together in most age classes.

Mounting is not a DIY job on race gear; we mount and test in the shop. See Marker and Head bindings, or all skis, boots and bindings.
